The British North America Philatelic Society Ltd. – BNAPS – is an international organization (founded 1943) devoted to the collecting and study of the stamps, markings, and postal history of Canada and the pre-confederation colonies of British North America (British Columbia, Canada, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island). Founded 45 years ago, CSN is Canada’s leading source of information about stamp collecting, postal history, deltiology and related fields. The majority of our readers are Canadian, so we focus on the distinct state of philatelic affairs in “our home and native land.” Our editorial pages feature breaking news, commentary and advice as Canada’s philatelic paper of record.

The magazine traces its roots back to June 1963 in Iola, Wisc., where U.S. numismatic icon Chet Krause launched what was then known as Canada Coin News. By August of that year, the publication’s operations moved north to Canada, and within a few years – with Canadian numismatics in a slowdown – the publisher added stamps and antiques to the mix. In August 1966, Canada Coin News became Coin, Stamp & Antique News, and a decade later, in June 1976, that publication was split in two, with CSN covering philately and Canadian Coin News covering numismatics.

Since 1989, both CSN and CCN have been owned by Trajan Publishing, which has since expanded into publishing and circulation services, website creation and management, shows, and hobby supplies under the banners: coinstampsupplies.com and collectorssupplyhouse.com . The company’s combination of special-interest content created and creative advertising solutions for the hobby’s various stakeholders remains its cornerstone today.
