Why CAPEX 22?
Canadians have enjoyed stamp collecting since the introduction of postage stamps in Canada in 1851. Our national society, The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada (RPSC), traces its roots back to 1887. Our first philatelic publication was printed in 1863.
In 1951, on the centenary of our first postage stamp, the first CAPEX international exhibition was held in Toronto. Three more CAPEX exhibitions followed in 1978, 1987 and 1996. In 1982 Canada held its first International Philatelic Youth Exhibition followed by a World International Youth Exhibition in Montreal in 1992. CAPEX 22 celebrates over 170 years of stamp collecting and the achievements of our past international exhibitions.
CAPEX 22 also charts a course for the future. The one frame exhibit format provides access to new collectors and the opportunity to develop exhibits on interesting niche topics. An expanded list of exhibit classes seeks to broaden the scope of philatelic exhibiting. The exhibition will be host to the first American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors (AAPE) International Team competition.
The CAPEX 22 exhibition is situated in the heart of Toronto ranked by BBC Radio as “the most diverse city in the world”. Visitors may enjoy the cultures and cuisine of 151 ethnicities all in one city, Toronto.
Join us in Toronto, Canada June 9-12, 2022. Plan to exhibit at CAPEX 22 in Toronto. Be part of the first International One Frame Stamp Championship.
